Mark serves as Head of Tax at Geller Advisors. Mark has over 30 years of experience advising family offices, family businesses and family foundations. Mark leads the firm’s Tax Department, specializing in multi-generational families and their holdings, growing and maintaining all aspects of a family’s wealth, including human, financial and spiritual capital.
Prior to joining Geller Advisors, Mark was a Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting, leading the Family Enterprise Services practice and the Private Client Tax group for their Real Estate Solutions practice. Mark provided transaction support, including sourcing and structuring of capital, and governance planning to individuals and multigenerational families, particularly those with meaningful real estate interests.
Earlier in his career, Mark was a founding partner of Relative Solutions LLC, a family enterprise consulting firm, where he developed a model for working with families of wealth who own and manage substantial assets, including operating companies, real estate, investments and foundations. He also spent twelve years at Price Waterhouse as a Senior Tax Manager in the consumer products, entertainment and real estate practice areas where he guided Fortune 100s, as well as significant family enterprises, in creating and implementing complex tax strategies.
Mark received a B.S. in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University and is a New York State licensed Certified Public Accountant. He also studied non-matriculating coursework in Organizational Development at Teachers College, Columbia University. Mark is a member of the Family Firm Institute Board and a Chair of two global conferences, the NYSSCPA Family Office Committee and Friends of Island Academy, supporting youths 16-21 to reduce recidivism after serving time on Rikers Island. Mark is a frequent speaker, author and source expert on topics related to family tax planning, governance and next generation leadership.
